About
After growing up in Brussels as a US-born Belgian, my academic studies in Sinology in Ghent and and Chinese Law in London lead me to Beijing, China. There, I eventually started working as a freelance photographer/videographer with a preference for documentary and outdoor work, thus combining creative pursuits I had started developing while in secondary school with my passion for the outdoors and curiosity about society and culture.
Over the years I have freelanced for various international and Chinese clients including news agencies such as McClatchy DC, car brands such as Infiniti, Chinese outdoor brands such as Ozark Gear and events like Air+Style Beijing.
From August 2016 to October 2017 I worked at CTVS, a Beijing-based production company with a focus on live-broadcasting, news production and corporate video mainly in post-production and occasionally as a cameraman. At CTVS I enjoyed a high-degree of independence and often communicated directly with multiple stakeholders. Clients included ORF, TVE, Audi, Porsche, Mini and others. Now, I am again pursuing a freelance career.
I have working proficiency in Dutch, French, English and Mandarin and can understand basic German and Spanish.
