Brett Melnick is an award-winning writer and producer with over a decade of professional writing, directing and producing experience within the film, television and new media space. Brett began his career in the writers’ room of the TBS comedy The Last O.G., starring Tracy Morgan and Tiffany Haddish, where he wrote digital marketing shorts that aired on TBS and its digital platforms. He also worked in the writers’ room on the first two seasons of the FX comedy Dave. As a writer, Brett contributed to ABC’s reimagining of The Wonder Years, penning the episode “The Valentine’s Day Dance,” which received critical acclaim and helped the series earn a Peabody Award in its first season. In the feature space, Brett’s comedy script Yom Kippur was an official selection on the 2020 Black List and is currently in development with Red Crown Pictures and Crystal City Entertainment. In the new media space, Brett co-wrote & directed the YA sci-fi podcast Faraway, starring Marvel’s Xochitl Gomez.
