He is the Owner and Creative Director of Songbird Productions, a commercial production company specializing in brand documentaries and storytelling. Thomas also works as a freelance photo and video journalist for news outlets such as The Associated Press, Reuters and Libération, specializing in topics on climate change, border issues, homelessness and social justice. He is also the President and Co-Founder of Sanctuary Doc, a long term, multimedia documentary which tells stories of compassion for animals within our world's greatest challenges. When the Talban took control of the Afghan government in August of 2021, Shiba Walizada and Parastoo Mehrzad and many other women waited at the Kabul airport for three days, not knowing whether or not they would be allowed to leave their country. In December of that year, Arizona State University and the local business community were responsible for the safe transit of 61 Afghan refugee women to Arizona where they now have the opportunity to continue their higher education dreams.
Jaclyn's father left their family at an early age and shortly after, they were homeless. Though her family faced immense challenges, Jaclyn's mom always emphasized education, keeping her enrolled in school. When she graduated high school, Jaclyn received a scholarship from Phoenix College and now pays it forward as a high school counselor.
“Transfarming Switzerland” follows Sarah Heiligtag, a woman from Switzerland helping transform animal farms into vegan farms and sanctuaries by working directly with farmers who seek a different relationship with animals. This short film was winner of the Animal Advocacy category at the International Vegan Film Festival and winner of the Eva Holler Women Transforming Media honoree in The My Hero Project Film Festival in 2023.
