Black Trans Activists Rally for Justice: ‘We’re Target Number One’
I spoke with trans activists and allies from all over Florida at the Unspoken Treasure Society's annual Black Trans Lives Matter Inclusivity Rally. After 3 discriminatory killings in 2018, Jacksonville was named the "Transgender Murder Capital" of the United States. Many say that due to judicial inaction and lack of investigation, the city doesn't feel any safer since then.

The Jewish Internet Helped Me Claim My Sephardic Jewish Heritage
This essay is about my initial experience reconnecting with my Sephardic Jewish heritage. The virtual restraints of COVID-19 made the difficulties in feeling that connection rough enough, but the Jewish communities on Twitter and YouTube reminded me that those same virtual restraints can be helpful as well.

Deaf artist bridges sign language and art for the abled
Quinn West is a Deaf visual artist from Chicago, Illinois. They use illustration and photography to demonstrate the issues that Deaf people worldwide face, such as language deprivation and ableism. They went viral at the beginning of 2021 for their decorative hearing aid designs, and I interviewed them to tell the story of their artistic advocacy and the intentions behind them.
