Al Baqarah 2.43 is a documentary I co-produced that investigates the conditions of young students at a number of exploitative koranic schools, or Daaras, in Senegal. The documentary highlights issues of neglect and abusive treatment towards the students, some as young as 4, and was shot and produced on location in Dakar.
