About
SHENG Xin is a Master of Science candidate in Journalism at Medill School, Northwestern University. As a business reporting + broadcast reporter, Sheng covered banking, real estate, employment and retail during her study at Medill. In summer 2013, Sheng finished her graduation final project -- a documentary about an immigrant worker's fight against discrimination, wage theft, sex harassment, and unsafe working conditions . Sheng holds a B.A. degree in Drama, Film & TV Literature and Production from Communication University of China in Beijing. She was the first student journalist in the history of American Embassy in China, which usually don't accept volunteers from non-citizens or non-employees. Sheng also had internship experience at many prestigious media organizations including Associated Press, Xinhua News Agency, Shanghai Dragon TV. Sheng won South Metropolitan Daily National Journalism Scholarship in her senior year. She loves movies, especially documentaries, and hopes to be a business/broadcast reporter in the future. In addition, SHENG Xin also has great interest in consulting, corporate communication, public relation and marketing.
