Based in Rome, travelling through the Mediterranean, the Sahel and West Africa. I focus on human trafficking, transnational crime, conflicts, borders and human stories. From 2016 to 2021, I've been covering extensively migration and jihadist threats in Niger. I've been a recipient of the Evens Foundation Geopolitics Prize (2022), of the True Story Award (Special mention, 2019), of the Media Migration Award (2017) and a grantee of Journalism Fund, the European Journalism Center and the International Press Institute. I contribute to Italian and international outlets, such as La Repubblica, Internazionale, L'Espresso, Der Spiegel, The Guardian, The New Humanitarian, The Correspondent, Mèdiapart, Paris Match, Deutsche Welle, Open Migration, Profil. As a consultant, I worked with Amnesty International, Privacy International, Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime, The World Bank, Concord Europe, Coopi and others.
