From 2016 to 2021, I've been covering extensively migration and jihadist threats in Niger. I've been a recipient of the Evens Foundation Geopolitics Prize (2022), of the True Story Award (Special mention, 2019), of the Media Migration Award (2017) and a grantee of Journalism Fund, the European Journalism Center and the International Press Institute. I contribute to Italian and international outlets, such as La Repubblica, Internazionale, L'Espresso, Der Spiegel, The Guardian, The New Humanitarian, The Correspondent, Mèdiapart, Paris Match, Deutsche Welle, Open Migration, Profil. As a consultant, I worked with Amnesty International, Privacy International, Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime, The World Bank, Concord Europe, Coopi and others.
The story digs into the use of surveillance tools, gifted by European donors, to tackle migrants smuggling in Niger, a country that has been turned into a major partner of the EU in the fight against irregular migration to its shore. It's a part of a long field work, conducted in Niger since 2016.

I'm a regular contributor to 'Oltre la news' (Besides news), a 4-minutes videoreportages programme of the Swiss national television. I produce, shoot and edit human stories from around the world, such as these story on small scale fishermen in Fiumicino, the Rome's suburb most known for hosting the city's international airport.
As a part of a longer work, realized in Nigeria between February and March 2020, I explored European Union programmes funding the return of migrants to their home country, and the impacts on people participating in these massive, expensive programmes.
