Request QuoteGuatemalan multimedia journalist experienced in audiovisual production. I was born in Guatemala City and got a degree in Communication Sciences. Since 2012, I've worked as multimedia journalist. At first, I worked in a small magazine for young people focused on Guatemalan political issues named Brújula of the Rafael Landivar University. From 2012 to August 2018 I was in charge of generating content in various formats (videos, photoreports, podcasts, texts, etc.). And from September 2018, I started working as an audiovisual journalist for the Plaza Pública. Since then, I have worked on issues such as migration, poverty and inequality, access to services and human rights. Last yearI have also done some collaborations for national and international media such as Comvite Magazine, Quórum digital media, BBC and The Insider in New York. In addition, I had the opportunity to work for the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), documenting with photographs the vaccination process against Covid-19 nationwide.
Over time, the Guatemalan social movement has been integrated from needs that are not completed by an absent State. The population, to pursue self-organized, has functioned as a counterweight to the construction of a just and equitable democracy for all sectors of the country.

An eruption of Volcán de Fuego, located in the department of Escuintla, about 60 kilometers from the capital, caused the disappearance and loss of people who lived in the communities located on the eastern slopes. Time stopped for the communities that were in the foothills of the Volcán de Fuego on June 3, 2018, many people died and many are still missing.
