My husband, Mahatma Putra (Director), and I have a small production house, Anatman Pictures, which specializes in documentary film making throughout Indonesia as well as branded commercial work. This was a short film written and directed by Mahatma Putra for the Go-Jek Go-Video Competition 2016 in Indonesia. Out of more than 600 entries throughout Indonesia, this film won the overall prize for Best Film.
This is the story of how the people of Banjarmasin in Kalimantan, have accepted and integrated transvestites into their community.
This film focuses on 5 strong women, each one of them with their own stories and struggles against the stereotypes of women wearing hijab in Indonesia. These powerful women come from different backgrounds and professions: Diajeng Lestari (business woman), Dian Pelangi (fashion designer), Diana Kara (fashion designer), Asri Yuniar (hardcore vocalist), and Lia Karina Mansur (professional athlete).
