Request QuoteI have begin taking photos since I was 11, taking my father’s Brownie Super 27 camera, without his permission, to shoot people throwing stones at soldiers in the street of Montreal, during the 1970 October crisis. I found out early that I was more attracted by stories than by simply shooting for the sake of it. Unfortunately, I never took it seriously until a friend asked me in the 80’s to take a photographic road trip of him and his band, between Montreal and Chibougamau, to the far north east of Quebec. Since then I have shot different documentaries covering mainly social or humanitarian issues. What motivates me is helping groups of people suffering from injustice, to gain media attention so their story can be known. Recent awards: Terra Bella Media first prize for my work with the Roma people in Bosnia and honourable mention at the MIFA (Moscow International Foto Awards) for my work covering the conflict in Ukraine. I'm also a Fuji ambassador for Canada.

Yves came through when we needed a bilingual photographer with talent that we could trust with the type of imagery and emotion we wanted to convey next to our editorial, without being there in person. He seemed to enjoy the type of work we do and it showed in the final product. Our contacts that were featured in the photos likewise enjoyed the experience. Would definitely work with Yves again.
Photos mainly from the front line position around Pisky, Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, from volunteers bringing foods and other goods to the Ukrainian army, to the front line positions of the belligerents.
On April 6 2015, we visit Krasnogorovka. What we saw is the evident beginning of a serious humanitarian crisis. People living in unhealthy conditions, surround by mountains of detritus, deficient water system, no windows, electricity, etc.
visited families living in old cold war bunkers in the city of Marinka and Petrovsky - Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. They live there for two reasons: either their houses got demolished or damaged by the fighting in between Ukrainian army and the separatists. Or, they are just afraid, traumatize by the constant sound of the mortars, bombs, automatic weapons, etc so they prefer to abandoned their home.
Part of the pro-Russian army in the east of Ukraine, the Cossack unit neutralize unexploded weapons in the area of Debaltseve.
