Laura Franco Velasco (www.boletusfilms.com) is an experienced documentary editor and filmmaker. Her work has been screened at film festivals all over the globe. She edited the Peabody award-winning documentary "Indivisible", a feature-length film about the true people at the heart of our nation’s immigration debate.
She also produced, filmed, and edited the award-winning short documentary Luchadora. The film follows Luna Magica - a professional Lucha libre wrestler in Mexico City as she struggles both inside and outside the ring.
She often produces, directs, and edits films that deal with social justice issues. One of her most recent documentaries follows Amin who was a victim of the anti-gay purge in Chechnya.
Laura is originally from Spain where she attended film school. She moved to the United States to continue her filmmaking education, she holds an A.A.S in Film Production, an A.A.S in Communication and Broadcasting Technology, and a B.A. of Arts and Communication from American University.
