I interviewed French historian Pierre Daum, who had travelled frequently to Algeria over the past decade and spoke with more than 60 Harki families, about his latest book: "The Last Taboo: Harkis Who Stayed in Algeria After 1962". Contrary to popular belief, most of the Harkis were not murdered neither escaped to France. They have remained in post-war Algeria, despite inequitable treatment.

Algeria: Feminists rally against domestic violence

I have recently published on Middle East Eye a feature article about gender-based violence in Algeria, focusing on the national grassroots movement for the vote of a law banning domestic violence and street harassment. During three weeks, I met with activists, victims, sociologues, lawyers and Senators as well. I did not only write the piece, I also took pictures during my research.

Al Jazeera -- 'Black Decade' still weighs heavily in Algeria

Ten years after the official end of the civil war, I interviewed relatives of victims and of missing people. They continue to demonstrate against amnesty deal bewteen the government and the Islamist rebels, saying the country has failed to reach national reconciliation. In the piece, I also asked senior analysts whether Islamist fighters should play a role in Algerian politics.

Algerie-Focus -- Algeria's blooming healthcare industry

In collaboration with the Algerian digital media "Algerie-Focus.com" and the Algerian TV channel El Djazairia, I produced a video of 5 minutes dealing with the growing production of generic medication in Algeria.
