Aner Etxebarria is a documentary director and filmmaker whose passion for wild nature and indigenous worlds has led him to produce, script and direct documentaries in various countries such as: South Sudan, Ethiopia, Mozambique, DRC, Bolivia, Mongolia and Brazil, among others. Among his works are: Baskavigin: The Slaying of the Basque Whalers, (https://vimeo.com/179476642) which was selected for the SSIFF and the Reykjavik International Film Festival, and won an award. at the Richmond International Film Festival. The work has been broadcast on the RUV, ETB and EUSKALTEL networks, and is currently on the FILMIN platform. Bayandalai, Lord of the Taiga (https://vimeo.com/319761215). A documentary short film that delves into the meaning of life and death for the Dukha people. One of the most threatened indigenous communities in the world, which maintains an ancestral symbiotic relationship with its beloved reindeer in northern Mongolia. Selected work at more than 40 international festivals and awarded at 12 mountain and nature film festivals, including the Banff of Canada and the Wildscreen Film Festival in Bristol.
