Working a 9-5 job didn't fit in Gabrielle Simmons schedule. The Flagler College student decided to create her own t-shirt business and make money on her own terms.
I wrote this cover story for the August 16, 2017 cover story of Folio Weekly, a weekly magazine for Northeast Florida. The story follows 19-year-old Makayla Tyrrell who has been drag racing since she was 16 years old.
The annual Great Race took off from Jacksonville, Florida this year. The streets were filled with over 100 antique cars as they lined up and took off, each hoping to win the $50,000 grand prize.
