MADHAV NARAYAN FESTIVAL CELEBRATION IN BHAKTAPUR
Madhav Narayan is one of Lord Vishnu's many faces, and is worshipped during the month of Magh. Thousands of devotees flock to Hanumanghat in Bhaktapur, Nepal, every year to observe a brata (a day of fasting) dedicated to Lord Madhav Narayan. Devotees get up early in the morning, probably before sunrise, and take a holy bath in a nearby river, where they keep still for a while.
