Twenty -six years ago, precisely June 12, 1993, Nigeria held its first presidential election since the 1983 military coup. The result of polls was a landslide victory for Moshood Kashimawo Abiola but that was short- lived and hopes were dashed as the election was annulled. However, hope was restored with the 1999 election but how well has this paid off for Nigeria? Today, Nigerians are divided over the true meaning of dividends of democracy. Young Nigerians seek to change the narrative as they discuss their aspirations for a more democratic Nigeria.
