Blind since birth, Damkerng is the only teacher with a disability in his school. In Thailand, 2.1 million people with disabilities are registered with the government, but only 6 percent of those of working age are employed. Damkerng strives to move ahead in his career and inspire more opportunities for people like him in the workforce.

Buntida Chinnawong, also known as Faii Using Foot Wearing Makeup, is a Thai beauty influencer with disabilities. She doesn’t consider herself to be disabled, as her family didn’t raise her to believe she is. She became famous overnight when a clip of her using her foot to put on makeup went viral on social media. She has had to break through many barriers both physical and psychological to become a successful personality.

On 17 August 2015, there was a bomb blast at the famous Erawan Shrine in central Bangkok. On 8th Feb 2020, in Thailand's North-eastern province , a soldier shot dead his commanding officer and mother-in-law over a financial dispute. He went on to steal weapons and a Humvee before driving to Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Mall, where he continued his killing rampage. 32-year-old beauty advisor, Ratcharnon Chestnork, was there. He was trapped in an electric control room overnight, and was one of the last people to be rescued before the Thai authorities went in and took out the gunman.
