About
I am an international award-winning documentary filmmaker, based in Dubai, UAE and available for work across Europe (thanks to a German residency) and the Arabian Gulf.
My creative documentaries (Being Osama, Grandma a Thousand Times & Champ of the Camp) were seen worldwide at +80 festivals and broadcast on ABC, CBC, Al Jazeera, Link TV, Nat Geo and numerous VOD platforms. My accolades include a Tribeca Audience Award (presented personally by Robert de Niro), an Esquire Magazine Humanitarian Award, and a Best Film Award from London International Doc Fest. I have also directed commissioned branded content for agencies and governmental offices in Doha, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. In 2015, I was named to the 100 Most Powerful Arabs Under 40 List, the first such listing for a documentary filmmaker.
I am drawn to human interest stories with a socio-political edge and to content on music, arts and culture. Usually, I operate in 3-person crews. My first languages are Arabic and English. I'm also proficient in French and German.
