For almost a decade, I have worked as a features producer at CNN International, based in Hong Kong and Atlanta, covering stories across the Asia-Pacific region via short- and long-form documentaries and digital video. During this time, I covered a wide range of topics, from technology and sports to culture and economics, traveling to countries like Brunei, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. As a Vietnamese-American journalist with a passion for writing, video, and creativity-first approaches to storytelling, I pride myself on my ability to distill new topics and information into digestible, impactful stories. My work at CNN as a features producer helped me hone my ability to get to the heart of any subject. My skills lie in field production, script writing, and project management. Witness to the Pandemic
This program ended up being nominated for Outstanding News Special in the 42nd Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards in 2021. My role in these specials entailed overseeing the narrative arc of the half-hour, finding the best sound bites and broll elements from dozens of interviews and news packages, and collaborating with colleagues in Atlanta and London to tell a global story. I was tasked with interviewing CNN reporters who covered the initial outbreak of the Covid-19 virus.

My Hanoi
This is one of my favorite half-hour specials that I worked on when I was at CNN, based in Hong Kong. The show would go on to win in the Best Lifestyle Programme category at the 2018 Asian Academy Creative Awards. For #MyHanoi, I found and vetted five photographers based in the Vietnamese capital, who had differing aesthetics and perspectives on the city.
