Salvador Gallardo Castro repurposes scrap auto parts to create furniture and art in Tepito, one of Mexico City's oldest and toughest neighborhoods. He taught himself to disassemble discarded iron from cars and trucks and uses the pieces to design furniture.
Da Strada is a classical music group that performs on the streets of Mexico City. They—and other musicians—are often targeted as troublemakers and harassed by a police force that consistently overlooks the crimes of corrupt politicians and gangsters.
