In 2014, Ortiz’s short film Listen was awarded Most Unique Short Film in Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's HBO TV Show Project Greenlight. In 2015, his film Wake Up was chosen as 1 of the 12 best international short films to screen at the 2016 Festival De Cannes. In 2017 and 2018, he completed a 3,500-mile drive across America to direct a documentary series called the Drive For Men's Health. Ortiz is currently writing a feature film script with his wife Valeri while working as a freelance director and editor.
