Taking Chance is a documentary by filmmaker Nicholas Quin Serenati and follows the making of an original blues album for the International Blues Competition (IBC) in Memphis, Tennessee. The film follows the Rainin' Blues Band members, Rj and Eric, as they write and produce an original album for this competition in less than 20 hours.
This body of work is an example of my professional research in academia centered on illness narratives storytelling. This piece was presented at the Mayo Clinic's Arts in Medicine Conference in Phoenix, Arizona in 2016.
