Damani Pompey is a Brooklyn born interdisciplinary artist, Movement Director, Choreographer, Lighting Designer, and Educator. Pompey attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia and SUNY Purchase for arts management, dance and lighting design. Pompey is considered a versatile artist, creating based on the emphasis of concept, vision, and collaboration. In 2014, he was commissioned to present an evening length work for DLab Dance Company in Shanghai, China, serving as the Technical Director and Lighting Designer. Pompey is currently the Choreographer for HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness, Resident Choreographer for MVMT Productions working with Virtual Reality, TV and Film disciplines. He also works with music artist, Gabriel Garzón-Montano with movement orientation and choreography.
