Julianne knows how to find a talented team to work with. She connected us with a good shooter in India for this piece and got all footage to us in a timely manner. She also connected us with a talented and fast editor. My only major suggestion is for her to flag the use of third-party footage she wants to use early on so we can discuss whether it’s feasible to use before beginning the edit. -Jun

Julianne has a good sense of story selection. Her input and feedback throughout the scripting and edit stage helped a lot in creating a beautiful final product. It would have been helpful if she was more involved in making sure deadlines were clear with the editor. -Jun
What do the lovable Winnie the Pooh and the ferocious Tasmanian Devil have in common? Voice actor Jim Cummings! He’s brought the honey-obsessed bear (and sidekick Tigger) to life for the last 30 years. And that’s not to mention some 400 other credits, including the singing voice of Scar in “The Lion King,” and the slithering, slimy Kaa in “The Jungle Book 2.” We sat down with Jim to uncover the man behind the voice, and to learn which of his iconic characters he identifies with most closely (hint: it’s someone who wears a cape).
This is part of a larger series I pitched, produced, and filmed. If you’ve performed Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” routine at home in front of the mirror (and you know you have), it’s time you met the man behind these iconic moves. His name is JaQuel Knight, and he is a choreographer and image architect who works with superstars: Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams, Jennifer Lopez… the list goes on. Knight’s visual stylings can turn a hit song into a pop culture phenomenon. One constant in Knight’s choreography? He makes a portion of each routine accessible, so we can all get up and dance.
Adrian Wellock lost his sense of taste. After suffering a cold, he started getting a metallic taste in his mouth, which took his palate with it. These days, he only eats foods that are simple to chew and adds spice and herbs to ratchet up the smell. Find out what it's like when everything, actually tastes like nothing.
Bruce Campbell lives in an airplane. Yes, an actual jet. The Portland-based aeronautics enthusiast makes his home in a converted Boeing 727 that was once used as a Greek aircraft until the mid-1960s and now resides in a forest near Portland.
One Halloween, Ryan Weimer’s then-3-year-old son wanted to dress up as a pirate. But his son, who has spinal muscular atrophy, is restricted to a wheelchair. So Ryan fashioned a homemade costume that incorporated the wheelchair as a pirate ship, and his son absolutely loved it. From that idea was born Magic Wheelchair—a global non-profit organization that creates custom wheelchair costumes for kids. In addition to bringing joy to the costumed kids and their families, Weimer says his designs can act as a “cure for the day” by liberating the kids from the stigma so often attached to wheelchairs.
