Released: Iowa City Suspension focuses on two friends in Iowa City that run a piercing studio in Iowa City. This project focused on the culture and motivations of those involved with the practice of human suspension while being told from a visceral, first person perspective.
This is part of an ongoing project focused on heavy metal subculture and the state of changing religiosity in America.
This project evolved out of a story I did for the Daily Iowan on haunted attractions in eastern Iowa. Theaters of Fear focuses on one particular haunted attraction which serves as a valuable makeshift community theater project for local misfits seeking a creative outlet.
