Be it physical or spiritual, we all are present. One might roam endlessly in their subconscious state while the body is present in the physical world. The title of this art exhibition 'Though Presence' entails the presence and the being, or passing through a certain time and period. It looks at passing in a sense where one contemplates, dreams, stresses, laughs, rages depresses, and boasts through a certain time and period.
Imagine this- When you're just six years old, a time meant for endless play, boundless energy, and insatiable curiosity, your vision is stolen from you due to a misguided attempt to alleviate a simple allergic reaction. That’s what happened to the protagonist of the short documentary film entitled ‘Berhanu: Beyond the Barrier’, which invites viewers to witness the extraordinary odyssey of an extraordinary man who, through trials and tribulations found a way to flourish.
Adwa, north-central Ethiopia, was very peaceful in the late 1990s, with mountains soaring through the sky and trees as far as your eyes could see. Zion Yaynu grew up in a mountain house; admiring the view of both the city and the mountains from either side of her home.

The versatility and eccentricity of Gèbrèkristos set him apart from many others. He was a painter as well as a poet. In Gèbrèkirstos' world, both were united in holy matrimony. His ability to replicate who he was as a person and what he loved on paper is astonishing.
