Arianna Giménez Beltrán (Barcelona, ​​1987) is a freelance visual journalist and a field producer based between Barcelona and Bogotá, where she develops long-term projects focused on race and gender. Looking for their impact in medias and social networks, she uses different visual langua- ges ​​such as photography, video, collage or design. A Political Science and Media Communication mayor, she specializes in photojournalism and visual storytelling studying postgraduate studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and at the Danish School of Media & Journalism (Denmark), also in Creative Documentary at Universidad del Valle (Colombia). As a visual journalist, she has covered the presentation of the Peace Agreements between the Colombian government and the left-guerrilla FARC and the first presidential elections in the country after the signature, as well as different mobilizations of the victims of the armed conflict. Also in Colombia, she has directed the photography and shooted the documentary Embrujo Verde, a piece about the consequences of the so-called Green Wars in the western region of Boyacá. In Spain, she has covered the effects of the economic crisis on the population, specially on the right to food of people. As a result of this work, in 2014 the Hungerland project was born, which was a finalist of the Ciutat d’Art Award in Barcelona, Clic Fotojournalism Scholarship of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Diomira Association (2015) and published and exhibited nationally and internationally. Arianna combines her vocation for visuals with the production on the field, which she is also passionate about. She works as a field producer in Barcelona for international medias such as BBC, Channel4 News, Aljazeera English, Radio Canada and China Global Television Network with whom she has covered the terrorist attacks of the 17A in Barcelona, the political events resulting from October 1st in Catalonia or the situation of the Catalan prisoners, between other social and political issues. She also works as a field producer in independent documentary projects. In that sense, the last documentary in which she worked Messages of Catalonia, has been nominated for the Grieson Trust Awards. Her work has been published in different media such as MSNBC, VICE España, El Periódico de Catalunya, Planeta Fututo, Píkara Magazine, Periodismo Humano, Setmanari La Directa or Periódico Diagonal and exhibited in VISA OFF (Visa pour l’Image), Can Basté and DOCfield Festival.
