Request a demoI work on projects at the intersections of conflict, environment, migration, and socio-ecological change. During my involvement with conflict transformation projects in the Philippines, I helped to develop collective formats with local filmmakers to spark dialogue and reconciliation through films. Since my debut documentary film “A House in Pieces” (co-directed with Jean Claire Dy), I have dedicated myself fully to filmmaking. My second feature documentary as an editor is “This is our Everything” (directed by Frederik Subei) on the radical resistance against illegal logging by Northern Brazil’s Guajajara people.
3.000 activists followed the call of anti-coal mining protest group Ende Gelaende to occupy an open pit coal mining area operated by RWE in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The civil disobedience action took place on November 5, 2017, an hour's drive away from Bonn where the United Nations climate summit COP23 began the following day.
A war between government and ISIS-affiliated jihadists in Marawi, Philippines, forced hundreds of thousands to flee from their homes. After the war, residents struggle to rebuild their homes and lives in a deformed city. Displaced couple Yusop and Farhanna and their children yearn for freedom, income, and comfort after returning to their city. But even to return to normalcy is already a struggle. Nancy, a once wealthy woman, has to cope with her loss of home in an evacuation shelter where she will have to remain for years. An anonymous driver with striking insights shuttles back and forth between places and stories around a city which will never be the same again. The film accompanies its protagonists for two years through fear, worry, and hope, towards a new beginning on their long journey.
