Once nicknamed ‘Murderapolis,’ the city that became the center of the ‘Defund the Police’ movement is grappling with heightened violent crime
A few months back I was approached by CNN to photograph a story about residents in Minneapolis who had been impacted by gun violence on the Northside. Loss of any kind should always be approached with respect and reverence, especially when I am asking someone to share that with me and allow me to help visually tell their story. I was humbled by the families I met while working on this piece and hope that the work honors their experience in some small way.
