About

Born in León (Spain), in 1982. I studied a Bachelor in Journalism in Complutense University in 2005. In 2006 I studied Photojournalism at the Danmarks Journalisthojskole. I've worked as photo editor at EFE News Agency Desk and in 2007 I joined the photo department of ADN newspaper. In 2009 I moved out to Central America, freelancing in Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. The earthquake in Haiti in 2010, where I was based until 2013. One year and a half as photojournalist correspondent for EFE/EPA, and then freelancing and contributing for different papers and magazines, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Der Spiegel... and several NGO's. I'm currently based in Spain, but I keep on working abroad in news and projects. Lately in Turkey, Egypt, Haiti and Ukraine. Awarded with "Picture of the Year" and "Enrique Meneses Prize" in National Photojournalism Award 2014 in Spain, and 3rd Prize in News Essays POYi Latino América 2011.
