I've spent most of my life surfing, whitewater rafting, and competitively freeskiing, in addition to pursuing studies in film and photography. My work heavily explores the artistic nature of the sports and environments I was raised in, and is shaped by the Los Angeles culture I lived in for years. Over my career, I've shot for Red Bull, The North Face, Harley Davidson, and other similar clients, and am licensed for drone operations in the USA, UK, and Europe. Uncharted Waters tells the story of when Homeboy Industries, the world's largest gang-intervention organization, took 50 of their members on an overnight whitewater rafting adventure. Creating this project was an incredible adventure, and hearing these stories of adversity and healing was inspiring for us.

Join The North Face Athlete John Collinson as he follows in his father’s tracks to turn new corners and explore the canyon, he grew up in. Along the way John explores his father’s skiing philosophies while considering ways to nurture the rapidly changing culture of a growing ski community.
