The story is shot during the 2016 Kashmir unrest. In this video report i have tried to put out what the people associated with tourism trade had to say about the continued unrest and the losses to the business they do.

Once complete, the shawl will travel far and in all probability end up in an upmarket boutique. On the Indian market a really good piece of work will fetch upwards of Rs. 60,000. The profits however don’t reach the artists.
The report is written after the floods of 2014 devastated Kashmir valley - in it I mainly talk about the then forthcoming elections and the slowed process of relief and rehabilitation.

Farooq Ahmad Dar, a Kashmiri embroidery artisan who was picked up on his way back from voting in the state bypoll and used as a human shield, is disappointed that the Indian army has awarded the officer responsible for committing what is widely considered a war crime under the 1949 Geneva Conventions, even as a probe into the incident is on.

It is a video story shot over a period of various months - the story is about a firing range of army which hd killed over 50 people, mainly locals in Budgam area of Kashmir. I have documented the whole issue in which local people speak of the problems they go through. I also documented the struggle of the local activists who pressurized government for de-notifying the lease agreement with army
