In 2017 the WSJ broke one of the biggest stories in the world that uncovered a web of fraud that stretched across the world and implicated senior businessmen, celebrities, and the Malaysian prime minister, who later went to jail for the crimes. As a part of that coverage, I led the multimedia drive to explain the complicated web of transactions. This included 6 animated videos and a documentary. The project was awarded first place in the 2018 Loeb awards for business reporting.
I was handed 2 years' worth of footage profiling, three wealthy entrepreneurs, in China that were pushing the limits of speaking out against the Communist party. I decided to create a graphics project and split up the different profiles into a graphics project.
