Request QuoteInvestigative journalism to feature pieces. I've done just about everything when it comes to video storytelling. Previously, I've covered politics in Iowa, agriculture controversies, and a range local news stories. I've reported as well as produced promotional pieces for the investigative journalism non-profit IowaWatch. Social media video campaigns and profile pieces are not foreign to me either. I incorporate all these skills to help me put the puzzle pieces together and make a compelling visual story.
Here I created a promotional video for an online journalism organization. IowaWatch wanted a video that could be used in a pitch to possible donors. They wanted to include a lot of information so I had to get creative with the b-roll. A combination of writing to the video and using motion graphics worked to tell their story.
In this piece of work, I reported, wrote, shot and edited the story. I hoped to go to the top with the crane operator to get my own footage but regulations didn't allow me access. Most of the b-roll was taken with a GoPro.
Through this story I was able to localize a major issue for farmers. It was a major challenge to get a Monsanto representative so I had to be creative to include their point of view.
I shot, reported, edited, and wrote this story. Since it was more of a feature piece I wanted to focus on using a lot of nat pops, different angles/shots, and finding the sound bites that added to the story.
