Toasting to JamRock: The Roots of Hip Hop
If you travel down the great tree of hip-hop culture, to the very roots you will find that hip-hop is a genre influenced hugely by Jamaican music. I propose a multi-episode adventure into the land of hip-hop’s ‘conception’, discussing the birth of hip-hop from reggae and dancehall culture, the use of dancehall in current hip-hop/rap music, hip-hop created in Jamaica by Jamaican artists.
