Virginia Fuentes is a screenwriter and documentarian from Seville, Spain. After several years of working for Spain´s top advertising agencies as a creative copywriter, she pivoted to television screenwriting, producing scripts for the Spanish Public Television(TVE). In 2013, she was awarded with a funding from One World Media to direct “MAMIS: A Family Portrait.” MAMIS is her first documentary as a director. The film has been screened at the 28th BFI London Flare Film Festival, the Montreal International Film Festival, The Helsinki International Film Festival and the FrameLine 39 in san Francisco, among others. Virginia has studied filmmaking in Spain, Cuba and UK. She graduated with an MA in Documentary Film from the London College of Communication. She is now based in Madrid working as a freelance flimmaker for local and international production companies.
