Pakistan election coverage .
The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the inconclusive results of the elections held on February 8. After the announcement of the election results, now there is a question in everyone's mind that when will the first session of the National Assembly be called and when will the newly elected members of the National Assembly take oath? On the other hand, it is also important to know how independent members and specific seats for women and minorities will be distributed in the assembly. Only after the completion of all these steps, the meeting of the National Assembly can be convened. Various deadlines have been fixed for all these matters in the Constitution of Pakistan and the Election Reforms Act.
After the results of the general elections in Pakistan, the manipulation to form the government is going on. But the Muslim League (N), which has won the most seats in the National Assembly, is neither happy with the results nor the Pakistan People's Party seems satisfied. In such a situation, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has also announced to sit in the opposition, after which the fear of increasing political uncertainty is being expressed. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed independent candidate has managed to win the highest number of seats in the National Assembly, however the PTI has also been making allegations of election rigging.
Negotiations between the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and the Pakistan People's Party to form a government after the February 8 elections in Pakistan have finally been successful. The two parties have agreed on a power-sharing formula under which Asif Zardari has been nominated as the President of Pakistan and Shahbaz Sharif of the (N) League has been nominated for the post of Prime Minister. The two parties have also agreed on the distribution of other constitutional positions on Tuesday night, but the leadership of both parties has decided to announce the decisions on these positions later.
