Ovais Mangalwala is a documentary filmmaker, tv anchor and producer from Pakistan. Born and raised in the city of Karachi, he has formally studied Information Technology, Finance and is associated with broadcast journalism since 2007. While working for leading TV channels of Pakistan, he has produced many documentaries on diverse topics and has established a reputation of looking at things from unusual perspectives. Themes he has worked on include politics, religion, education, finance and human rights. He also worked for an international documentary project "SOLD: Fighting the new global slave trade" which has been broadcast in more than fifty countries, screened more than 800 times and garnered numerous festival honors. Ovais also serves as visiting faculty at several media universities in Pakistan. Currently, he is associated with Express News Television, where he also hosted his own current affairs show.
