Since 2011 I'm working on my personal long term project about the maternal health in Africa and developed/industrialized countries. Through the documentary “the AMERICAN dream” these african-American women tell their own stories: they know what is wrong, they share their hopes, they share their fears, and they share about their American dream, related to maternal health in the US.

Christine, 17-years-old, got married when she was 15, lost her first child when she was 16, and she is now seven months pregnant. Rose, 16-years-old, is currently breastfeeding first child of five months. Christine dropped out of school in secondary two and Rose dropped out at the end of primary six, both due to a lack of financial availability from their families. They represent thousands of teenage mothers in Cameroon.
Cecile, 37, does not believe she should have given birth in prison. But delivering her daughter in a jail cell in unsanitary conditions with no supplies or medical care is precisely what she did inside a prison in western Cameroon.
