My only goal is to tell an engaging story using my camera. I enjoy working with clients and brands that are looking to create captivating film / video content for their audience or clients. I take a personal approach to every project and believe in developing long standing relationships and friendships with the clients I work with. I will only engage with people or companies I would support myself. I live just outside of Bamberg, Bavaria and moved here in 2020 with partner and daughter. I come from Cape Town, South Africa and travel for 3 months of the year to shoot projects for German clients in South Africa while it is winter in Germany. Kristallklar - A Fly Fishing Short Film
Kristallklar tells the tale of a hidden river holding wild brown trout near Western Germany. Find out about this magical river from the perspective of Kirill, who recently acquired the lease to the fishing rights of the river and a small tributary thereof. It captures the essence of a fly fishing adventure on the river embarked on by the incredibly passionate Kirill and two companions: Nic, a fly fishing scientist and Simon, the film maker. The film tries to capture the feeling of the magnificent surroundings and being at peace on the river. It also delves into topics of conservation of nature and the plans to re-stock the river with native crayfish which vanished from the river. A lot of love went into this film the hope is that it inspires those around the world to find a love for the outdoors and to preserve it for many years to come and just to get out there and fly fish. Produced in 2021. The Cyclical Collective - The First Step of a Waste to Resource Journey
What does the world look like when waste to resource comes into play? Where do we start on that journey? The Cyclical Collective makes it easy for one to take an easy step into the world of removing organic waste from landfills and extracting value out of it with their organic waste collection and composting service. After a fortuitous meeting with old school friend, Chris, after a beautiful hike in Nature's Valley, South Africa, our families connected. Not only did we have daughters of the same age, we shared many of the same values around nature and the world around us. When he introduced me to his project "The Cyclical Collective" it was an instantaneous moment of me knowing I wanted to film something about it and get it out to the world. The energy that Chris and his team give off is amazing and I am so glad I could put my energy behind a lens into playing a small part of the journey that lies ahead. The Thoughts of a Fly Fisher - Cape Streams, South Africa (A Very Short Film)
In this very short piece I tried to capture what it felt like walking alone in the mountains, observing my surroundings on a morning which involved a hike up to the section I was meant fly fish on the day. The moments we all experience while we are out fishing but often times miss because we are focused on the fishing. On this day I hardly fished. I just simply appreciated and tried to capture the beauty I was surrounded by. I hope you enjoy this very short fly fishing film that contains no fishing and that it brings familiar feelings to all of you out there.
