Request QuoteIrene Yadao is a creative producer, video editor, and writer who has worked behind the scenes on documentaries and narrative films. Most recently, she was a co-producer on the Emmy-nominated documentary Picture a Scientist (Tribeca, 2020), directed by Sharon Shattuck and Ian Cheney, and produced by Manette Pottle. She is a co-founding producer at Paper Tongue Productions, a storytelling collective focused on producing stories about, for, and by female and non-binary BIPOC filmmakers; and she is also a collaborator on Rockland Cinémathèque, whose mission is to showcase and celebrate essential, underrepresented films & BIPOC filmmakers. The daughter of a Native Hawaiian father and a Filipino immigrant mother, Irene’s screenwriting imbues humanity and humor into character driven stories about family dynamics, dislocation, loss, and belonging. As an editor, understanding the heart of the participants is as important as locating the crux of a story. She enjoys finding solutions to editorial challenges and collaborating with directors and producers to tell meaningful and impactful stories.
