In the Ganderbal district of South Kashmir, a unique Pashto-speaking community has been quietly preserving its linguistic heritage for over 200 years. Originally from Afghanistan, these Pashtuns settled in Kashmir generations ago—and through endogamy and strong cultural traditions, they’ve managed to keep their native Pashto language alive across centuries and borders.
The documentary focuses on the ecological and environmental decline of Hokersar Wetland, often referred to as the “Queen Wetland of Kashmir.” Once a thriving sanctuary for migratory birds traveling along the Central Asian Flyway, Hokersar has seen a dramatic degradation in recent years due to human encroachments, unchecked urban waste, and changing climate patterns. Once stretching across 18.75 square kilometers in 1969, the wetland has now shrunk to just 13.75 square kilometers.

On January 9, 2021 several performance artistes arrived at Tikri Border to express their solidarity with the protesting farmers.
