The Owl-Eyed Guardian and the Banyan Dream chronicles the story of Andhayee, an enigmatic woman from the village of Kottakarai, who lived under a solitary banyan tree in profound connection with nature and spirituality. After her husband’s passing, Andhayee predicted the arrival of people from around the world to her tree—a prophecy fulfilled when, in 1967, three men sent by The Mother discovered her at the heart of what would become Auroville, an international township dedicated to human unity.
The film explores Integral Education and the "Free Progress" pedagogy in the utopian city Auroville, a living experiment in reimagining education for human evolution. Grounded in culture and virtues, it inspires educators and parents to nurture the "psychic being." Through voices of parents and children, the documentary bridges dreams and reality, aligning with India’s New Education Policy 2020 to transform learning.
