I'm Daniel "Don Solaris" Melguizo. I'm 39, from Spain, and living in New York City since 2005. I'm mainly interested in telling stories about normal people who do extraordinary things. That is a broad concept but the essence is always the same: A community that is benefitted by the actions of one particular person, to show the rest of the world that there's something else besides the comfort bubble we like to reclude ourselves in. To denounce the wrong doing of some, portraying the good work of others. Issues like immigration, poverty, human rights, education and art interest me. I've worked in all kind of environments. Im always close to the action and I never hide behind my camera. Being bilingual English-Spanish plays a big role in this task which is my integration among those who make the story Im filming. I recently rode my motorcycle from NYC to Argentina, to find real stories. Ive already edited a series of profiles about unknown people that is worth seeing up close.
