I graduated with a degree in Visual Arts and Communication Design from Eastern Mediterranean University, Cyprus and begrudgingly joined the workforce of millions of other artists in Lagos, Nigeria. My work ranges from documentaries with NGO’s focusing on displaced survivors of Boko Haram terrorist attacks, to short films tackling the intriguing questions in life, like “what is love?”. Akudo Iheakanwa is a Lagos-based entrepreneur and founder of Shekudo, which produces shoes and accessories that celebrate Nigerian craftsmanship and design. The brand aims to empower local artisans, working with locally sourced materials.
Olubunmi Atere is a contemporary ceramicist in Lagos, who hand builds and carves enchanting pieces with clay. She carves intricate motifs into her pieces, including the Adinkra symbols of the Akan people in Ghana, as well as those of her own creation.
In this film, Emma Prempeh provides insight into her practice. She carries us along on her journey of questions and discovery, in which she interrogates the concepts of time, spirituality, and connectedness with the body through the lens of her familial relationships.

This is a documentary about the Ghana-based collective called the "Skate Gal Club"; an all female collective created to connect and empower girls and women in Ghana through skateboarding. Sandy Alibo, the founder of the Skate Gal Club takes us through the journey of the creation of this collective as well as enlightening us as to why starting this sort of project for women is so important now in West Africa more than ever.
