I have been with media industry for almost a decade. During this spectacular journey, I have been exposed to myriad cultures, built rapport with famous personalities, and social influencers, which has made me even more passionate in my love for entertainment. During my stint with BigFM, as a Station Producer, my passion for poetry and music was rekindled. The electrifying experience of being able to share emotions and ideas with my audience on a personal level has given me an innate ability to understand what moves peoples' heart. As a part of this industry, I have produced content for three popular shows besides hosting an evening show called 'Chal Yaar Chill Maar with RJ Junaid' and managed major advertisers for the company in creating unique business ideas to keep the programmes afloat. My biggest achievement as a radio producer has been single-handedly scaling the growth of Srinagar’s first retro music station to the top 100 music stations of India. I deeply cherish my capacity for conflict resolution, adaptability, and intuitive thinking, and have often been lauded for the rigour and personal touch I bring to my professional responsibilities. In fact, it is my love for the field that has recently inspired me to conduct creative writing workshops for young media professionals and radio aficionados in Kashmir. Over the last few years, I have worked closely with several functions of media and entertainment industry and managed the expectations of diverse stakeholders across verticals. It has helped me in: • gaining sharp insights into communication strategies • enhancing brand resonance • fostering customer retention • carving opportunities for the product to inhabit newer markets and imaginations. Throughout my career as a journalist, I have focused on telling the stories of marginalized communities and bringing attention to issues that are often overlooked. I have worked on investigative pieces covering human rights abuses in various countries, environmental disasters and their impact on local communities, and the struggles of the LGBT community in their fight for equality. In addition to my writing skills, I am also an experienced filmmaker and have directed three documentaries on issues related to human rights and the environment. My ability to research and investigate complex topics, coupled with my storytelling skills, has allowed me to create compelling visual narratives that have received critical acclaim. I would also like to mention that I have extensive experience in video editing and post-production. In my previous roles as a documentary filmmaker, I have been responsible for editing and polishing raw footage into compelling, emotionally resonant stories. I am proficient in using industry-standard editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro, and I am constantly seeking out new techniques and methods to improve my editing skills.
