In addition, the film was screened in theaters across the US, named a critics pick by the New York Times and nominated for a Cinema Eye Spotlight Award. I work as a member of Meerkat Media Cooperative, a group of nonfiction filmmakers based in Brooklyn. Every morning in Ramadan he plays the drum as a call to prayer for the immigrant families in his community. Now he must pass this skill and tradition onto his son, Shehr.
