I shot, wrote and edited this piece. It aired on Sky News Australia and NZ. It examined a technological breakthrough in the creation of high grade coke used in steel production. A start-up company in Auckland, New Zealand developed a way to create coke through a high powered microwave, replacing the need for coal mining.
Current affairs story on the Ebola epidemic in Liberia and the country's neglected health system. Shot in May 2015. I pitched the story, created the budget, hired a freelance cameraman and produced a 17 minute story in Liberia for 60 Minutes NZ. I took a Canon SLR and shot as a second camera. I then wrote the story and oversaw the edit back in New Zealand.
This story was on the risky recovery of a plane that crashed off the coast of New Zealand and the elite Navy dive team tasked with retrieving it. I was the reporter on the this story and followed it through from the pitch, to overseeing the edit, and anchoring the episode.
