Request QuoteValentina Neri (1991) is an Italian photographer. She was born and raised in the Milan area. She attended the Monza’s Art Institute, then she went on to study at cfp Bauer’s school of photography in Milan. The same year, as a result of an internship she began a steady collaboration with the Italian photographers collective Cesura. In 2018 she published her first book Almanacco Toilet Club, reviewed in numerous international magazines and shortlisted by the Arles photo text book award 2019. Currently she’s still producing individual projects, focusing her work mainly on the linguistic research sector.
Collection of short video interviews of people who are at the front line in Covid-19 emergency, as positives patient, doctors, volunteers, companies that help and people in special situations, who want to tell their experience to give people home the opportunity to listen to real testimonials and have useful information on what is going on.
In 2018 the book of the project has been published. Her research drove her illustrating the queer world while experimenting with different languages. Photographs, descriptions, titles, illustrations, presentations and quotes, talks about a group of people in a free way while giving readers possible different interpretations.
From 2014 to 2016, the photographer Valentina Neri worked on Toilet Club Milano, a club where a group of drag queens created a party out of nowhere and entered into the map as one of the most important in the Milan’s gay clubbing scenes. After portraying characters’ growth and the colourful atmosphere, she continues her project working on the output.
