Lunaé Parracho (Brazil, 1983) is an independent photographer, journalist and filmmaker.
Since 2011, Lunaé has been focusing on his country social and environmental issues, mainly reporting from the Amazon about natural resource conflicts and exposing human rights violations in Brazil's interior. As a regular Reuters contributor since 2012, his work has been published in The Guardian, El País, The Wall Street Journal, Al Jazeera, National Geographic, Corriere della Sera, Stern, Folha de São Paulo, The Washington Post, O Estado de São Paulo, Gazeta do Povo, UOL, NBC, Paris Match, Clarin, Newsweek, among others.
Besides working as a photojournalist for some of the largest media outlets abroad and writing feature articles for online media in Brazil, Lunaé Parracho have been contributing to NGOs on field investigations and on documentation for independent reports and writing feature pieces to the media.
Parracho holds a Picture of The Year Latin America award (POY 2013, portrait) and a China International Press Photo Contest (CHIPP 2015, general news) . In 2014, his work was presented during the Visa pour l’Image, International Festival of Photojournalism in Perpignan and In 2016, during the Third Documentary Photography Days in Istanbul.
